Moving Day

I don't like having my journal being the vehicle of uncontrollable advertising. So, I've moved to http://klaatu.blogsome.com. Good bye Live Journal.

Writer's Muse

I’m wondering—all the bullshit aside about “having no regrets”— what is the one thing I regret most in my life?

Hmm.

Anyway.

Life’s been really good these days. I deserve a break.

BTW. I’m looking for a Writer’s Muse. Must be able to spin the tumblers of my mind. Preference given to a pan-dimensional muses with powers to manipulate time and space. Would prefer she had wings, but not required. Will consider internship for an experienced fairy seeking career change. Give me a call. (360) 754-3596.

Thinking about "The Day the Earth Stood Still"

Thinking about "The Day the Earth Stood Still."  I saw it about 1960 on TV. I was ten. Kaatu Barada Nikto. I believed. I still do. Makes me put one foot in front of the other everyday, be glorious or despair.

Okay. Finished the Duck article. Now I'm hot. Time to finish the Parks & Recreation grant! Get that done and clear sailing.

Up late last night watching Carnal Knowledge, 1971 movie with Jack Nicholson, Art Garfunkle, and Candice Bergman. Never seen it before. I was 21 when it came out. The actors were older than me then, and look like kids now. Good movie. Way ahead of its time. I love NetFlicks.

The new sleeping arrangement is the best so far, but still not quite right. Good news, I seem to be getting use to The Vault's weekend noise.

I have too many fun things qued these days. It's frustrating. I want to do them all.

-BNW business seems to be taking up more time this year than last. But most of it's fun stuff.

-I have a two customers now who want me to make them books. I'm rollercoster terrified. I'm afraid bookbinding will become a new obsession.

-Starting the first draft of what I hope my best novel so far. I've learned so much writing the Zone X novels and UFR. I'm excited about this next project. I'm bring in wealth of experience and understanding of the craft that I didn't have starting Zone X and UFR.

I counted another 39 items.

Haikui Tunnel

I feel like the character in the movie Haikui Tunnel. All he had to do was stuff and mail 17 letters. It takes the entire movie for him to sit down and get it done.

All I have to do is write 500 words about Bud Johansen. Why am I doing everything possible to avoid it? Like writing in a journal (which I've never done). I guess 500 words about an important person in my life--still living--needs to be just right. I don't feel up to it.

Damn it. It's just a Duck article, not the New Yorker. I need to quit worrying and get it done. I'm not getting out of my chair until it's done. Not moving an inch. Oops. I need to make more coffee before I get started. And I should check email and return a few calls...

Can you die from too much happiness?

I wrote this yesterday, Sat. Oct 18. I screwed up the posting.

1:00 PM

I'm so depressed today about the happiness. Too much fun stuff to do.

Just got back from the Nutcracker production meeting. It terrifies me how well things are going with the show and the new artistic directors.

You've heard the story about the optimist digging through a mountain of horse crap because he knows there must be pony in there somewhere? Well, damn it, I don't have to dig in crap, because the pony is right there with a bow around its neck.

On my way to take Nutcracker Company photos. Too much fun!

5:00 PM

Horrible! My heart can't take so much concentrated beauty and grace. My second weekend of Company photos. About 60 of the most lovely people in Olympia. How did I get so lucky? Now I'm going to have a beer and watch "Solaris," the original 3 hour Russian version. Rain Day Records has the best collection of movies in Olympia.
